JOB DESCRIPTION:

Farasis is seeking a (Sr. )Technical Project Manager to support the battery design, development, and manufacturing of cutting-edge lithium ion battery systems for automotive and non-automotive applications. (EVTOL, off-road vehicles, motorcycle, energy storage etc) This position is responsible for leading and facilitating the technical development of a battery project, including being the primary customer interface for technical issues. The (Sr.) Technical Project Manager will work closely with the internal project management, mechanical, systems, electrical, simulation, and cell engineering teams to ensure on-time delivery and project success. In addition, this role will be responsible for coordinating and leading cross-functional efforts on technical issues across technical teams to ensure alignment and success of the project.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:  The following responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Serve as the client technical interface for one of the battery cell, module, and pack projects. A technical leader responsible for guiding the technical direction of the battery development projects, and driving the technical teams towards achieving the project milestones and develop the product within the scope
  • Understand customer technical requests and negotiate technical solutions
  • Coordinate lithium-ion battery design efforts, utilizing the dedicated mechanical, systems, electrical, simulation, and cell engineering resources
  • Manage and track key technical initiatives, decisions, gates
  • Lead and coordinate the efforts of the Product Development, System, Simulation, and Cell Engineering teams to ensure successful battery development.
  • Have cross functional mindsight to bridge the gap between technical teams(Product Development, System, Cell, Manufacturing, Quality etc) and non-technical teams (PM, Business Development etc) to ensure all working packages align and reach to consensus in a timely and organized manner
  • Lead cross-functional meetings and workshops to align project technical goals and progress
  • Review, prepare, and deliver engineering related presentations, both internally and externally
  • Travel to customer and internal company sites for face-to-face meetings and workshops
  • Collaborate with internal project management team to ensure project schedule is met
  • Collaborate with internal project management team to come up with project resource needs and deliver the status to management regularly to ensure the project success
  • Approximately 20 – 30% international travel

 JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or systems engineering, or project management
  • 6 years for Sr. TPM or 3 years for TPM of engineering or technical project management experience, including time in a customer-facing leadership role
  • Experience or familiarity with EV battery systems
  • Automotive experience is preferred
  • Battery Cell experience is preferred
  • Leadership and communication skills necessary to lead a technical team
  • Self-motivated attitude with the ability to multitask and thrive in a timeline-driven environment
  • Interpersonal communication skills with expertise in distilling complicated topics to a broader audience
  • PMP certification or similar training is preferred
  • Fluent Mandarin or German is beneficial, especially technical
