At GreenStone Farm Credit Services, we take data security seriously, and we're looking for an enthusiastic intern to join our Information Security team. In this role, you will play a vital part in reviewing, enhancing, and maintaining our security policies, procedures, and practices.
This is a paid internship with an hourly rate of $19/hour.
Duration: May 2024- August 2024
Hours: Enjoy a consistent schedule of 8am-4:30pm, Monday - Friday, providing you with a stable work-life balance.
Location: Based in our East Lansing, MI office, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to the local community while being an integral part of our organization.

Key Responsibilities of an Information Security Intern:
- Documentation Review: Thoroughly review documentation related to security policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines to ensure alignment with best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Process Improvement: Identify areas for improvement within our security processes and practices, contributing to a stronger security posture.
- Business Continuity: Assist in maintaining and updating our organizational Business Continuity Plan (BCP) content to ensure preparedness for unforeseen events.
- Compliance Monitoring: Provide initial compliance monitoring and participate in investigations related to security incidents or breaches.
- Forensic Analysis: Assist with forensics analysis and fact gathering during security incidents to support incident response efforts.
- Vulnerability Assessments: Collaborate on vulnerability assessments and penetration testing for specific applications, services, networks, and servers as needed.
- Security Best Practices: Apply and promote good security practices in all aspects of your work, helping to create a culture of security awareness.
Requirements:
- Must be pursuing a bachelor's degree in an IT related field.
- Sophomore status or above in your academic program.
- A minimum GPA of 3.00 is required.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Self-motivated and eager to learn.
