What are the responsibilities and job description for the Install Manager position at Farmers Roofing?
Be able to run our installs in a professional and well mannered way. Dress for the job and be kind to our customers and installers.
1. Check Material and Verify Everything is on the roof or in your truck from the Storage. Put peel and stick in the shade.
2. Verify all tarps has been placed in proper areas by crew to ensure proper coverage of ground cover.
3. Verify Dumpster is there and in the proper place.
4. Check all penetrations for duct sizes for proper re-attachment. If needed get the correct GN from Storage and re-attach.
5. Verify nailing pattern is correct on the plywood decking or nail off to code and take the proper pictures and upload to JN.
6. Verify all Rotten plywood has been removed and replaced and all 3 proper pictures have been taken and uploaded to JN.
7. Verify all chimneys have a cricket or we have installed a cricket.
8. Make sure when installing skylights that we let the homeowner know we need to put floor covering down first.
9. Verify all skylights and solar tubes are flashed properly and have the correct amount of plastic cement around them on the flashing.
10. Make sure all valley peel and stick has been installed properly without plastic backing still attached
11. Inspect Dry-in to ensure all bullseyes are hit with plastic cap nails. Verify double layer of underlayment from eave to peak.
12. Inspect drip edge is nailed every 3 inches on center of drip edge. Ensure all corners are 2 piece corners and correctly done.
13. Verify the crew is popping chalk lines to ensure no short coursing. Installation instructions are on every shingle bag.
14. Verify all shingles have the correct nailing pattern per Florida Building code and Manufacturers Specifications.
15. Verify the correct amount of nails per florida building code. 6 nails
16. Verify all connections have been made to the correct goosneck. Bath fans, Gas exhaust, Kitchen exhaust.
17. Verify the dryer vent is connected to the dryer jack vent that is specifically made for a dryer vent.
18. All lead boots should be properly installed and rolled over into PVC pipe using the correct lead boot size.
19. All ridge vent should be installed with provided 3" roofing nails that come in the box.
20. All ridge vent should be evenly placed onto the ridge to ensure the same coverage on both sides of the ridge.
21. Verify all hip and ridge is straight and evenly wrapped onto each side of the hip and ridge.
Roof Final Checklist:
1. Check the entire roof for an acceptable amount of plastic cement spots. If more than 3 that are a quarter in size, remove and replace shingle.
2. Ensure shingles are not lifted due to improper spacing. You will see whats looks like a birds mouth where both shingles are touching each other.
3. Make sure no plastic is hanging from shingles.
4. Verify there are no manufacturers defects. Severe granular loss, Algae, color differences.
5. Verify gable shingle overhang is flush with drip edge.
6. Ensure there are no high nails or nail pops. Nail pops are high nails that have popped through the shingle.
7. Make sure all trash is out of the gutters.
8. Make sure the roof is free from any and all debris.
9. Do the final walkthrough video of entire roof and upload to JN and Whatsapp Farmers Roofing Thread.
Final Ground Clean up
1. Ensure Rain sensor is atteached back to home if removed.
2. Verify all satellite dish wires are wrapped with zip ties and neatly hung.
3. Walk entire perimeter with magnet to ensure all nails, screws, drip edge cut-offs have been removed from property.
4. Walk entire perimeter and pick up any trash left behind by the crew.
5. Ensure all extra bundles are being carefully removed from the roof to ensure refundability.
6. Remove all material from the property and take back any material to correct supplier for refund.
7. Verify the dumpster has been called in to Kim for removal.
8. Knock on the front door and let the homeowner know that we are finished and the proper way to get ahold of the company if they have any problems.
9. Also, let the Homeowner know to leave the permit paperwork on the window until final inspection. If the homeowner is not home, call the homeowner and let them know all of the above through a phone conversation.
10. Let them know all of the above through phone conversation. If that is not available leave a message and text the same message.
No sitting in the truck not doing anything. Always help the installers keep yard clean and assist in helping the job run as smooth as possible.
