Position : Die Setter
Pay : $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours : 40 50 per week
The Die Setter sets up and installs dies into machines, adjusts machine settings to ensure proper specifications are met, operate machinery to test dies, inspect finished products to maintain a high a level of productivity while adhering to the quality standards demanded by our customers.
The position is based in Milan, MI.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Operating Presses and set up and install dies into machines
- Ability to follow documented Work Instructions
- Adjust machine settings to ensure proper specifications are met
- Loading coils starting strips through dies
- Safely and properly operate material handling equipment (Hilo and Overhead Cranes)
- Accurately complete all documentation associated with the position (Standard Work Instructions, Quality etc.)
- Verify alignment of work piece on machine using measuring instruments such as mics, calipers and tape measures
- Troubleshoot issues with dies and machinery to reduce downtime
- Perform housekeeping duties as needed 6S’
- Comply with all Federal and State Safety Regulations
- Comply with all company policies and procedures
JOB REQUIREMENTS :
- Experience in pressroom operations, die setting and operation of single hit, progressive and transfer dies preferred.
- Proficient in Smart Pack and Feeder programming
- Proficiency in programming logic controllers (PLCs)
- Experience using Plex ERP software preferred
- Ability to read Production Inspection Reports and check parts
- Experience with tonnage monitoring, lead hits and reading ram settings
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other departments
- Self-starter with the ability to respond positively to directives given by Supervisor / Team Leader
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Must be reliable and committed to working scheduled shifts
- Ability to work overtime as necessary to meet customer demands (Daily & Weekends)
ADDITIONAL REQUIRED EXPERIENCE :
- Forklift and Crane experience
- Lock Out Tag Out
- Transfer dies, finger adjustments programing transfer (Atlas, Wayne Trail)
- Trained in SMED
STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS :
High School Diploma or GED
