POSITION SUMMARY
The Lead Housekeeper is responsible for the oversight, supervision, quality, risk assessment, quality improvement, operations, etc. of the Housekeeping staff. In addition to supervising Housekeeping staff, the Lead Housekeeper will be required to provide cleaning, floor care, grounds, and special project services (housekeeping, laundry, and/or general services/utility) when needed and as directed by supervision/leadership.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Demonstrates knowledge in housekeeping policies and procedures. Utilizes efficient and effective cleaning techniques, solution, equipment, and tools. Cleans building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming, and service/clean bathrooms.
- Maintains high moral and ethical standards. Strives to attain high Quality and Customer Satisfaction scores. Interacts hospitably, cheerfully, and is supportive with staff, patients, visitors, and colleagues. Accepts suggestions and direction from supervisors and reacts professional/receptively when received by other staff. Exercises good judgement while working around patients, staff, and visitors. Must be professional at all times. Assists other associates as needed.
- Supervises and performs when needed all cleaning, floor care, and additional service projects as assigned by supervisor and leadership. Moves beds and/or furniture as needed, changes mattresses, stocks supplies, or other related services as requested by supervisor/leadership.
- Monitors building security and safety by supervising and performing when needed such tasks as cleaning up after work and securing the site worked after work complete. Maintains equipment, tools, and storage areas in clean, orderly and good conditions. Respects company property.
- Supervises and helps set-up/arrange/remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, scaffolding, trash etc. for events.
- Prevent and eliminate indoor pests as needed.
- Manages laundry and provides luggage movement of patients from admission to discharge.
- Monitors supply inventory and orders cleaning products to ensure sufficient products are available at all times.
- Communicates with the Facilities Manager regarding housekeeping needs, staff performance, repair requests, etc.
- Adheres to and promotes compliance with applicable laws, fire regulations, safety and sanitation codes, employee handbook and departmental policies and procedures.
- Routinely inspects rooms, patient bathrooms, public restrooms, common areas, entryways, etc. to ensure cleanliness.
- Creates and maintains schedules for the housekeeping staff.
- Trains/mentors all new housekeepers and utility staff.
- Assists with hiring process to include contacting applicants and participating in interviews.
- Responds rapidly and thoroughly to emergencies, special situations, spills, etc.
- May drive company vehicles required to perform work.

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- High School Diploma, GED required, Some College or Associates Degree preferred.
- One to Three years of Supervisory experience required. Three years or more of Supervisory experience preferred.
- Five years of housekeeping or experience required. Healthcare or Hospitality housekeeping experience preferred.
- Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Able to walk or stand for prolonged periods. Requires bending, stooping, reaching up, and lifting.
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals on a constant basis requiring special clothing or safety equipment.
- Valid Non-CDL Driver’s License required for some positions within housekeeping.

Salary : $33,300 - $42,200
