Fathers New Mexico nurtures connections between the father, the family, and the community to promote self, family, and community health.
Who Are We?
Our focus is on the role of father and developing the strategies for supporting healthy
fatherhood. Our outreach is directed at young fathers, and fathers with other
identifiable challenges that could negatively impact their parenting. These men have
inspired us with countless stories illustrating profound dedication, perseverance through
challenging circumstances and consistent support for their children.
Like so many mothers have shown us, fathers can raise, love and nourish their children
despite the disadvantages they might start with. But, nobody parents alone and Fathers
NM provides support and encourages participants to connect with family, with other
supports and with responsible friends to help them. Fathering is at its best when done
in positive collaboration with mom, whether the parents are together or not.
What Would Be My Role?
The Executive Director reports to the Advisory Council and serves in a critical leadership
role to offer support to fathers and families. You will oversee all programming, services,
staffing, and resource development activities for the organization. You will work with
your staff and the Advisory Council to provide quality services to program participants
and establish and maintain relationships with community partners. Your role requires
the unique ability to manage staff, fundraise, and maintain a high level of visibility for
the organization. Effective management, leadership, financial, and public relations skills
are absolutely essential in this role.
This role is more deliverable based rather than time based. Bonuses can be discussed
with organizational growth.
Executive Director Job Responsibilities:
_ Responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the organization’s operations_
and programming to ensure organizational goals and outcomes are achieved
with fidelity.
_ Oversee staff onboarding, recruitment, retention, management, training, and_
other human resource activities linked to our fiscal agent.
_ Implement and maintain consistent accounting policies, procedures, and_
reporting.
_ Provide financial oversight of the organization while working closely with the_
Advisory Council, FNM’s fiscal sponsor, funding entities, and other staff members
to ensure financial adherence and accountability.
_ Manage, approve, and support annual budget reviews, monthly and quarterly_
reviews, and periodic forecast updates with operational and senior management.
_ Maintain ongoing, transparent contact with Advisory Council on organizational_
performance.
_ Work collaboratively with the Advisory Council to establish and prioritize_
strategies to support and grow the organization.
_ Maintain positive relationships with funders and community partners._
_ Oversee fundraising efforts while working collaboratively with fund development_
professionals and other relevant staff members.
Executive Director Qualifications / Skills:
_ Demonstrated ability to provide leadership, vision, and management to a_
regional non-profit organization. Must be able to develop long and short-term
strategies to achieve the vision and communicate appropriately to inspire support
and action.
_ Must have strong organizational skills, and be detail oriented with the ability to_
prioritize, manage multiple projects, and execute in a high-volume environment.
_ Must be able to meet deadlines, implement a unified strategy and accept_
direction as part of a statewide collaborative.
_ Must be able to demonstrate an established track record in fundraising in a nonprofit_
setting.
_ Ability to work both independently and with others to resolve issues and maintain_
composure and professionalism in an environment of changing and/or multiple
priorities.
_ Ability to maintain social, ethical, and organizational standards in job-related_
activities, at work, and in the community.
_ Excellent communication skills with the ability to develop and convey thoughts_
clearly, logically, and concisely both orally and in writing.
_ Ability to travel, work a flexible schedule and respond to emergency situations._
_ Demonstrated commitment, passion, and compassion for the mission of Fathers_
NM.
Education, Experience preferred:
_ Bachelor’s degree in business, social services or related field or equivalent_
experience.
_ Experience in management/leadership in a non-profit setting._
_ Experience in organizational development, program management, financial_
oversight, and data-driven decision-making to achieve outcomes.
_ Experience working with vulnerable populations._
_ Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record_
