Title: Material Planner

Position Summary

The role of a Material Planner is to verify that the production line delivery aligns with minimum stock targets and logistics cost. Utilize ERP software applications SAP to extrapolate supplier demand, control inventory, and ensure internal purchasing practices are maintained with external accounting sites.

Responsibilities

• Build up the Procurement Program by leveling Supplier demands (LISA).
• Manage inventory levels, utilize stock segmentation tools to minimize surplus inventory, and prevent shortages. Maintain JNI targets set by management, according to customer volumes and plant sales.
• Follow supplier delivery performance (MPM) of logistics partners and propose appropriate improvement action plans.
• Ensure that logistics conventions comply with purchasing objectives and support conditions set by suppliers.
• Manage safety stocks levels.
• Maintain monthly transportation program, and minimize deviation, by controlling premium freight costs, and ensuring on time deliveries of scheduled shipments.
• Perform daily PDCA followup through use of Daily Routines, Plant Tours, and TPAP task completion tracking.
• Track Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for inventory control and supplier performance.

Procurement Program Realization:

• Manage alert systems.
• Follow up the unloading, receipt, and the transportation of pieces.
• With Purchasing, ensure the logistics conventions which set up procurement conditions with suppliers.

Manage Engineering Changes with Suppliers:

• Keep up special relationships with program teams. Define and assume the logistics conditions necessary for the launch of new programs.
• Manage phase out files: reduce to the minimum the obsolete stocks and set up the file in a way to obtain their reimbursement by the suppliers.

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE):

• Support commitments established in the ISO 14001 Environmental Policy.
• Conform to requirements established in SAS Plant ISO 14001 Environmental

Management System (EMS) procedures and work instructions.

• Ensure members in assigned area(s) of responsibility conform to relevant EMS requirements.
• Support environmental programs to achieve objectives and targets.

Other:

• Assist with any additional tasks as assigned by the company.

Position Specifications

Authorities:

• Schedule premium transportation for materials to ensure production needs are covered.
• Delegate additional counts to the cycle counter.
• Request supervisors to investigate material shortages on storage trailers, external warehouse, etc.
• Address and enforce the receiving process to protect inventory and/or production.
• Make adjustments in SAP for inventory up to 5% discrepancy.
• Adjust inbound transportation based on decreased customer demand.
• Address improper handling of components and raw materials.

Education / Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in related field
• 1 to 3 years’ experience with Materials Management Systems
• Intermediate computer skills including Word and Excel; Advanced preferred
