Sanitation Worker

Job Summary

This position will use a variety of chemicals and sanitation equipment to clean and sanitize food processing equipment.

Essential Functions

· Remove all debris from machinery, floors, contact points prior to cleaning.

· Pre-rinse machinery and contact surfaces.

· Foam scrub and rinse entire processing room (i.e. walls, floors, food contact surfaces, equipment) prior to sanitizing.

· Make sure all electrical equipment is bagged prior to liquid use. Ensure aisle ways and raw material storage area swept and trash cans dumped.

· Handle chemicals used in the process of cleaning and sanitation by following safety procedures.

· Maintain and proper use of equipment.

· Observe and follow GMPs, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOPs)

· Complete all daily paperwork required.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications

· Must be 18 years

· Must have reliable transportation.

· Previous food plant sanitation experience a plus.

· Detail-oriented.

· Able to follow verbal and written communication skills.

· Able to work as a team player and ability to work independently.

· Time management skills.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

Full Time 40 hours a week - Night Shift - Some weekend work

The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 40 pounds and frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds. Must be able to operate and use all necessary equipment.

Education & Experience

· Prior food plant sanitation experience preferred but not required.

· High school diploma, GED, or equivalent years of experience preferred but not required.
