Business Banking Product Manager

Description

Responsible for deposit, loan & cash management products for large commercial accounts and small/medium sized businesses.  Develops and designs new and enhances existing products for all non-consumer products. Accountable for strategy, product design, and working with bank-wide SMEs for tactical execution to support achievement of revenue & profit objectives, as well as contribute to the bank’s growth strategy.  Reports to the CFO.

Essential Functions:

• Responsible for developing and deploying a strategy to define and grow all segments of non-consumer banking.
• Continually assesses product lines' abilities to meet market needs and business units' objectives and develops or proposes product solutions where gaps exist.
• Leads new product and product enhancements through the engagement and partnering with others (business and specialty banking, credit, marketing, operations, compliance, vendors, etc.) to ensure efficiency in creating & delivery of products to the banking operation.
• Manages the product marketing, segmentation, promotions, & product packages and collaborates with marketing for sales collateral of commercial banking products in support of channel distribution/bank volume objectives.
• Provides consulting services "as deep product expert" to salespeople for customer presentations/sales and all company business lines in support of strategic initiatives.
• Develops and executes plans to increase product cross-sell penetration.
• Drives competitive analysis and is a subject matter expert on industry trends/patterns to identify product opportunities, while considering the regulatory environment.
• Regularly measures the business impact of new and enhanced products added to the product portfolio through defined metrics of product growth, revenue generation, and profitability.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Demonstrated effective communication and negotiation skills, including vendor management
• Deep knowledge of the banking/financial industry
• Demonstrated skills in business cases and business development

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance or marketing or related field

• 5+ years as a product manager in a financial services organization, with a strong emphasis on Business Banking
• 5 years of retail banking experience, preferred

• Experience in government lending a plus
