What You’ll Do: As an Ag Specialist Underwriter, you will serve our Ag clients by re-inspecting our current book of business and updating the policy as needed. You will classify, accept, or reject ag lines of business coverage in accordance with Farm Bureau policy and procedures and in compliance with governmental regulations. You will drive retention of profitable business through sound underwriting best practice and exceptional customer service. As an Ag Specialist Underwriter, you must keep a service-oriented attitude at all times by maintaining professional and productive relationships with coworkers, supervisors, agents, agency managers, policyholders, and others. You will work out of your home and cover the Northeast Nebraska territory, typically spending 50% of your workday in the field.
What It Takes to Join Our Team:
- College degree or equivalent plus 1-5 years of relevant insurance experience required.
- Must have excellent problem solving, analytical and organizational skills.
- Strong customer service skills are required, including solid verbal communication and business professional writing skills. Must maintain a positive, customer focused attitude at all times.
- Must be able to meet deadlines, work under pressure and shift priorities to achieve corporate and business unit goals.
- Strong computer skills are required to quickly learn our multiple systems.
- Must keep up-to-date regarding local, state and federal rules and regulations to insure government compliance and meet company guidelines.
- Must have valid driver’s license and the ability to travel. Typically, travel is during the workday (50% ) for field appointments within your assigned territory but may also include limited overnight travel. A company vehicle is provided.
- Must attend training schools as required.
- Progress toward and achievement of industry designation/education is expected.
