Job Description
Feast is looking to fill the Retail Manager position. The Retail Manager sets the tone for the store and coordinates resources so that Feast is a warm and welcoming business with excellent customer service. This position leads and supports the retail team to deliver an outstanding customer experience, providing oversight and efficient systems to achieve this goal. Knowledgeable of specialty food, wine & cheese, a plus; a confident, team-oriented leader; and hospitable to all customers, while creating and maintaining a beautiful and vibrant atmosphere.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement product selection with a focus on appropriate margins and curation of unique and focused product offerings.
- Responsible for all Retail Departments including Pantry, Non-Alcoholic, Frozen, Produce, Wine, and Cheese departments.
- Offer daily oversight of the customer shopping and service experience, making improvements as necessary.
- Evaluate customer service feedback and respond to issues.
- Collaborate with General Manager (GM) on development of sales and merchandising initiatives including tastings & in-store demos.
- Hire, schedule, train, and lead the Retail Team. Perform periodic reviews as necessary.
- Update schedule in Square and manage department time-off, clock-in/out discrepancies.
- Project departmental labor costs to target levels for the month.
- Oversee recording of sampled, wasted, and transferred product. Deliver to GM monthly.
- Collaborate with Purchasing Department on weekly inventory, orders, and new product procurement.
- Collaborate with Purchasing Department and GM to monitor inventory costs, pricing, and margins to ensure they are in line with departmental goals.
- Work with Brand Manager to produce signage and merchandising materials.
- Oversee departmental cleanliness, organization, and proper product rotation.
- Create, update and print Register Checklists including Opening, Closing, and Cleaning checklists.
- Impart product knowledge to departmental staff.
- Maintain merchandising displays that are bountiful with proper and attractive signage
- Work with Purchasing Department on in-house produced barcode stickers and processes.
- Update departmental policies and procedures and ensure communication of changes to staff.
- Communicate facilities issues with appropriate Manager or GM.
- Oversee cashier and register closing and cash procedures.
- Assist in day-to-day operations of retail department as needed.
- Engage in routine strategic planning sessions with the GM and Finance Manager.
- Report Department information at the Manager’s Meeting.
Desired Credentials include:
- Management experience in Retail & Restaurant Industries
- Minimum of 3 years in Customer Service
- Strong leadership skills
- Passion for local and gourmet foods
- Familiarity with Square POS or ability to quickly learn new POS system
- Wine & Cheese knowledge is a plus
- Comfortable with busy, fast-paced environment and standing for long periods

Pay: $46,800.00 - $52,000.00 per year
