What are the responsibilities and job description for the Communications Assistant position at Federal Galley?
Reports To: Marketing Manager
Hours of Work:
- Part-time position: 20-30 hours p/week
- Must be available during business hours with an established set of core hours determined by management.
Job Purpose:
The primary purpose of this position is to support the Marketing Manager by performing various administrative and marketing duties such as generating and maintaining documents/reports, answering emails, executing events, and coordinating meetings.
Essential Duties:
- Maintain communication with the Marketing Manager and provide marketing support when needed.
- Assist with promoting the Galley, including events and community outreach
- Perform general administrative duties including responding to guest emails, creating reports, and scheduling appointments. Ensure customer satisfaction by handling guest concerns and following-up to answer questions.
- Update information regarding Galley website, event information, and reservations.
- Type and design general correspondences, memos, emails, and event invoices. Proofread and edit memos, reports, and other documents.
- Manage inventory for event supplies and make runs to purchase items when needed.
- Perform other related duties and assignments as required.
Education/Certification Requirements:
- Associate’s Degree in marketing or communications, or equivalent experience.
Experience and Skill Requirements:
- Minimum of one (1) year of marketing experience preferred, not required.
- Proficient with all social media platforms, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Acrobat, Canva, Microsoft Word and Excel.
