What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant to the Chair position at Federal Reserve Board of Governors?
The Assistant to the Chair has responsibility for the high-profile and high-visibility administrative and operational functions of the Chair’s office. Has an advanced knowledge of the Board’s organization, policies, and procedures, as well as those of the Federal Reserve Banks and external financial agencies. Serves in a high-visibility position as a liaison for and gatekeeper of information and communications with the Chair. Prioritizes a high volume of competing needs to coordinate appointment scheduling, travel arrangements, document preparation and review, and records management for the Chair’s office. Is responsible for independently evaluating situations that are highly confidential, time-sensitive, and/or impactful and responding with appropriate actions, including but not limited to responding on behalf of the Chair, providing factual information, and supporting the development of resolutions.
Requires a bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant work experience as an executive secretary or office administrator. Resolves executive office management issues, including office technology, administration, and operations. Provides a broad range of highly visible executive office support, including effectively managing the Chair’s schedule and appointments, preparing and reviewing various types of documentation, and coordinating travel arrangements. Strong analytical skills and excellent independent judgement. Demonstrated skill in managing interpersonal relations across a broad spectrum of contacts, and the ability to exercise substantial independence of judgment regarding access, priorities, and communications needs of the Chair.
REMARKS
Serves as the senior administrative support with multiple sub-functions, performing technical and highly complex administrative duties involving the use of independent judgment, proper handling of confidential information, and an understanding of departmental functions and procedures.
Coordinate International/Domestic Meetings including conference call logistics.
Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail .Very strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, including staff, board members, external contacts.
