POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the general direction of the Manager, Internal Controls, the Internal Controls Advisor will primarily be responsible for conducting advisory services to support and enhance the system of risk management and internal control throughout FedEx Office. This position will work closely with department managers as well as finance leadership and staff to prioritize, coordinate, and implement improvements. The role also leads the Corporate CSM function, internal control reviews, projects and cross functional teams.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Leads project activities through meeting facilitation, managing project scope and communicating progress
- Under limited supervision, plan and execute corporate and field reviews and special projects
- Gathers information from multiple sources and independently sorts medium to high complexity business issues to recommend appropriate direction
- Routinely leads and manages multiple business plan and/or special projects
- Provide internal control consultation to FSO departments, corrective action teams and management
- Measures and analyzes problem trends and validates need for process changes to maintain optimum customer support and satisfaction
- Provide advisory internal control, risk management, and governance services to management as required. This includes creating and directing the efforts of departmental / cross-departmental project teams tasked with assessing and improving risk management and internal control processes and systems within FXO
- Assists in the development and implementation of enhancements to the overall system of internal control, risk management, and governance as required
- Research and propose initiatives to reduce company risk
- Create new efficiencies, improvements and streamlines major department functions
- Mentor Sr. Analysts, Control Analysts and Associates
- Excellent technical writing ability
- Travel domestically and internationally as needed
- All other duties as needed or required
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance or a related discipline or equivalent experience
- Master’s degree preferred
- 7 years of relevant accounting, assurance and/or internal audit experience
- CPA, CIA, CISA, or CCSA designation
- Ability to collect, analyze and interpret information from various sources, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
- Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to clearly present information to various audiences in both formal and informal settings
- Excellent analytical and negotiation skills to resolve issues, evaluate possible solutions and risks, and gain consensus; this includes the ability to resolve problems, recognize opportunities for improvement and efficiency in processes and practices
- Supervisory / project lead experience required
- Advanced proficiency with MS Office applications (Access, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint)
