General Summary
The Electrician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical & mechanical issues. The Distribution Center is equipped with high-speed automated conveyor systems. Responsibilities includes regular building preventive maintenance and repair. This position is responsible for product safety, quality, and legality.

Primary Responsibilities
Perform preventative maintenance and repairs to conveyor system.
Complete and maintain all documentation related to the Maintenance CMMS and PM program.
Set up and maintain machinery to comply with current safety standards.
Complete all preventive and predictive maintenance to conveyor system and base building as directed.
Work well with others (Maintenance teammates across all shifts and with internal customers).
Troubleshoot equipment components using schematics, panel layouts and manufacturer specification manuals to effect repairs.
Preform electrical installations / networks for buildings.
Inspect equipment to detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions.
Participate as necessary in response to trouble calls.
Assist in receiving incoming shipments of needed inventory and replacement parts.
Support efforts for continuous improvements.
Other duties as required.
Assist Millwrights with breakdown repairs and PMs.
Knowledge of conveyor systems, carton-sorting systems, mobile equipment used in distribution centers. Understand various testing procedures to diagnose and implement repairs.
Troubleshoot equipment components using schematics, panel layouts and manufacturer specification manuals to effect repairs.
Effect repairs to the installed base of pallet rack, pick modules, dock components and materials handling equipment as required.
Assist in receiving incoming shipments of needed inventory and replacement parts.
Participate as necessary in response to trouble calls.
Assist in planning, setting priorities and developing the daily work schedule as directed.
Assist in development of department talent.
Communicate at a high level to peers and other department employees.
Miscellaneous tasks as assigned by the Operations Manager.
Education/Experience
- Journeyman Tradesperson, Interprovincial Red Seal, or Duel Ticketed Electrician /Millwright is considered an asset.
- High School diploma or equivalent required and 4 years of experience performing mechanical /Electrical maintenance duties in a manufacturing/packaging environment, or equivalent combination of vocational education and experience.
- Knowledge of Conveyor Systems, carton sorting systems and mobile equipment used in distribution Centers Demonstrated mechanical knowledge.
- Good Attendance
- Able to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of fire protection systems
- Knowledge of electrical distribution and Industrial electronics
- PLC Knowledge
- May be asked to work different shifts as required.
- Must be able to work at heights (15M)

Working Conditions
Work is performed in a general warehouse environment on a concrete surface with adequate lighting. Temperatures can be very hot during the summer months and very cold during the winter months. Workspace can be very dusty and occasionally noisy due to traffic of motorized vehicles operating.
