Job Description Summary:
- Responsible for highly complex revenue accounting supporting the accurate and timely close of the general ledger.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Under moderate supervision, responsible for complex accounting activities supporting the accurate and timely closing of the general ledger, which may include, but are not limited to: preparation and posting of journal entries, account reconciliations, fixed asset processing, lease/contract review, accrual entries, budget variance reviews, research and analysis of assigned large elements of revenue and expense and the related internal reporting.
- Ensure general ledger account balances are materially correct in compliance with internal controls and GAAP and that internal control risks are tested and documented in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley.
- Documents financial transactions by entering account information.
- Developing and implementing data analyses, data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality to support accounting functions and recommend financial actions.
- Reviews profit and loss statements, prepares variance analysis.
- Applying technology to solve business issues. Lead accounting initiatives/ projects including: process improvement, regulatory compliance/changes and policy.
- Mentors less senior staff .
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance or other related quantitative discipline is required.
- Four (4) years experience in accounting for financial reporting in a public accounting firm or in a large for-profit corporate environment.
- A related advanced degree may offset the experience requirements.
- Excellent analytical and financial analysis skills required. Strong knowledge of GAAP standards required.
- Outstanding knowledge of business software, spreadsheet applications and/or mainframe or web based applications.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills including presentation skills.
Skills/Knowledge Considered a Plus:
- CPA would be a plus
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP including its application to consolidated financial statements
- Master's Degree in Accounting, Data Science or Business Analytics would be a plus.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite (MS Word, MS PowerPoint and MS Excel)
- Basic to advanced proficiency in Data Analytics Tools including SQL, Power BI and Alteryx
Work/Domicile Location:
- This position is located in Collierville, TN. This location offers a hybrid work environment that requires in-person collaboration along with flexibility to work from home.
Relocation:
