Sr. System Programmer

Under limited supervision, develops, modifies, and installs, tests and maintains operating systems software. Responds to issues related to environment, hardware, system and/or software and executes disaster recovery procedures across technology areas. Frequently leads large projects. Provides guidance to those in less senior positions.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in computer science, engineering, or information systems or related field and/or equivalent formal training or work experience. Five (5) years equivalent work experience in information technology or engineering environment. A related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirements.

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems or related field plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or 3 years of equivalent work experience in information technology or engineering environment. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent* in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems or related field plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or 5 years of equivalent work experience in information technology or engineering environment, in lieu of a Master's degree plus 3 years of experience. A related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirement. Must have 3 years experience with the following: Understanding how to run, support and administer Tanzu Standard (VMware kubernetes platform); Understanding how to build, test and run Docker containers; Understand how to perform Linux server administration; Extensive knowledge in developing efficient automation solutions using scripting/programming languages (Shell, Python, Jython, JavaScript); Expertise in monitoring, configuration, troubleshooting & production support for mission critical environments; Ability to manage CI/CD architecture, design, best practices using DevOps tools like Jenkins, GIT & Gradle; Strong experience in building, testing, and supporting enterprise applications built on technologies Java, J2EE (Spring/SpringBoot); Knowledge and exposure with implementing CI/CD pipelines for enterprise systems using Jenkins and Gradle. Employer will accept one (1) year of directly related experience in lieu of one (1) year of education. Eligible for telecommuting from home within commuting distance from Plano, TX.
