Public Policy Analyst/Writer - Budget

The objective of this role is to provide a policy writer to the Department of Transportation Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration in Washington, D.C. The candidate must have comprehensive hands-on experience in composing, editing, clarifying, and maintaining policies, procedures, regulations. The Candidate must be able to create and implement policy-related communication strategies and be a master in Microsoft SharePoint.

Duties Entail:

• Drafts, writes, and edits the budget and ancillary policies, manuals, newsletters, websites, and other compositions as needed.
• Serves as the SharePoint content manager for the Office of the Chief Financial Officer.
• Compose and reviews written materials to ensure conformity with guidelines, written directives, and factual accuracy in data.
• Re-writes, expands, or clarifies materials in the interest of accuracy and clarity, and conveys the appropriate information to the intended audience.
• Composes, edits, clarifies, and maintains policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned as associated with this job classification.
• Interprets issuances and presentations
• Creates and implements policy-related communication strategies.
  

Requirements:

• US citizen
• Section 508 policy experienced
• SharePoint Content Manager experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics or related field
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and SharePoint
• 6 or more years of specialized experience that is directly related to the position and has equipped the individual with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to be successful in this role
• Experience in composing, editing, clarifying, and maintaining policies, procedures, regulations, interpretive issuances, and presentations, creating, and implementing policy-related communication strategies
