DESCRIPTION OF EMPLOYER:  Founded in 1901, Feeser’s, Inc. is a family owned and operated full-line foodservice distributor located in Harrisburg, PA servicing the Mid-Atlantic region.  Feeser’s provides an expansive offering of dry, refrigerated, and frozen products to a diverse customer base comprised of restaurants, healthcare facilities, educational facilities, and other institutions.

 

SUMMARY: The K-12 School Commodity Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating between customers and internal resources to ensure government commodity programs are handled efficiently and effectively.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with supplier partners to identify commodity capable product.
  • Support utilization of commodity products.
  • Serve as liaison with state and federal food distribution agencies.
  • Provide support with state and local product requirements.
  • Work with manufacturers, suppliers, and category managers to ensure customers receive appropriate commodity discounts as applicable
  • Ensure appropriate manufacturer billbacks are processed.
  • Review and maintain data transfer between commodity processing organizations (currently K12 Foodservice and Processor Link).
  • Enter and track government beef and pork case assignments and process all customer orders for those assignments.
  • Correspond with manufacturers, customers, and sales representatives throughout the school year for maintenance and problem solving.
  • New school year preparations: pulling all product lists from K12, Processor Link, and direct vendors to be coded with Feeser’s item numbers.
  • Pull USDA commodity values and setting up each value in preparation for the new items each school year.
  • Add and maintain all manufacturer items that are added to or removed from the program.
  • Add and maintain the “banks” of commodity pounds and cases for each school district throughout the year.
  • Enter and track all commodity beef and pork school orders and coordinating with the buyer to ensure delivery.
  • Perform quarterly audits for multiple manufacturers (currently JTM and Maidrite).
  • Review each daily report of manufacturer transaction uploads for any errors and correcting.
  • Review any manufacturer failed transactions on K12 Foodservice and Processor Link, identifying the issue and correcting to have transaction passed or rebilled without NOI discount.
  • Work with accounting to identify any short pays in the billbacks for Net off Invoice (NOI) repayment.
  • Enter and track all Modified Fee-For-Service Beef and Pork orders for Sales.
  • Working closely with purchasing to track POs.
  • Handle short/damaged product order (is the product here or what happened to it) and making sure replacement cases are ordered for the customer.
  • Resolve any issue that involves NOI/Modified Fee-For-Service items either with customer, vendor, broker, or Sales.
  • Perform item maintenance on the core system such as entry of new items (stocked, special order, restricted, proprietary, or replacement), updating and maintaining item descriptions with changes, and verifying all descriptions are consistent.
  • Ensure accurate data collection through knowledge of GS1 standards.
  • Determine and resolve discrepancies in the collection and presentation of data.
  • Standardize product data conventions across multiple business units.
  • Analyze and propose data process improvements.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and correct data product issues.
  • Provide guidance for data maintenance to cross functional teams responsible for entry of key data.
  • Train for buying responsibilities.
  • Assist Category Managers with confirmations, pricing, and late orders.
  • Process non-stock vendors and purchase orders.
  • Manage Cool School Program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Prepare regular reports related to any of the items, above.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • High School or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience managing government commodity schools program preferred.
  • Proficient with Office 365 applications, including Excel and Microsoft Word.
