We are seeking an experienced and energetic Kitchen Manager to oversee the daily operations of our kitchen. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in culinary arts and successful kitchen management, with a passion for maintaining high standards of food quality and safety.
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required.
Key Responsibilities :
- Manage Kitchen Staff : Hire, train, and schedule cooks and other kitchen staff to ensure efficient operation.
- Staff Development : Focus on training and developing kitchen staff to enhance their skills and ensure consistent food quality.
Maintain consistent and organized written performance files and conduct regular training sessions.
- Coaching Performance : Actively coach staff in the moment to improve their performance, provide constructive feedback and recognize achievements.
- Grooming Future Leaders : Identify and mentor potential leaders within the kitchen staff, providing them with opportunities for growth and advancement.
- Inventory Management : Maintain inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock to meet demand.
- Quality Control : Perform quality control on food leaving the kitchen, ensuring it meets our standards.
- Menu Development : Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop and maintain the taqueria menu, focusing on authentic Mexican cuisine.
- Sanitation and Safety : Set and enforce regular cleaning standards and ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
- Financial Management : Track kitchen finances, including budgeting and cost control, to identify areas of potential waste.
- Customer Satisfaction : Ensure all dishes are prepared and served on time, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Bilingual Communication : Effectively communicate with staff and customers in both English and Spanish to ensure smooth operations and excellent service.
Qualifications :
- Proven experience as a Kitchen Manager, Restaurant Manager, or Head Chef.
- Hands-on experience with production planning and ordering ingredients.
- Experience with cloud based POS systems and office softwares such as MS Office or Google Suite
- Excellent organizational and conflict management skills.
- Ability to manage a team in a fast-paced work environment.
- Flexibility to work during evenings and weekends.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required.
- Certification from a culinary school or degree in Restaurant Management is a plus.
