What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chef de Cuisine position at Fellows Cafe?
Nestled beneath a one-hundred-year-old oak tree on Green Street, Fellows is a destination breakfast and brunch cafe inspired by the global travels of its owners, Christina and Tony. Bringing a little bit of everywhere to here, the cafe serves coffee, breakfast, brunch, lunch, and cocktails. We are open every day from 8am-2pm and host sourdough pizza night every Friday evening from 5-8pm.
Fellows is looking for a Chef de Cuisine to lead us into our fifth year as a cafe!
Our chef must be kind, hands-on and team-oriented. This salaried leader will work closely with the owners, operations and management in strategizing on ideas, menu creation, staff motivation and kitchen financials. For the perfect candidate, there are opportunities for continued growth within the company, with plans for further expansion in 2024.
In this role, the applicant must be experienced in and responsible for:
- Menu development and specials
- Food cost optimization
- Ordering and purchasing
- Creating beautiful, produce-driven food
- Working effectively to train and teach the team
- Building purveyor and local farmer relations
- Enforcing Georgia Department of Health compliance at all times
- Bringing creative ideas for the development of the company as a whole
