Ferguson Industrial Integrated Supply has a position open for an Operations Manager servicing our customer, Mueller, in Decatur, IL. This position will be onsite in a manufacturing environment working alongside our customer, providing procurement services and operational logistics for two storerooms that contain MRO, cutting tools, machine repair components and PPE products. Responsibilities include: Leading the customer’s internal plant logistics for all MRO products Storeroom Management Build and maintain vendor relationships Sourcing and procurement Execute a 5S program. Reporting Cost reduction Customer relationship Cost savings initiatives Review, adjust and maintain proper inventory levels Build customer and supplier contacts The requirements for the Operations Manager role are: Background in purchasing Strong Microsoft Excel skills Proven organization skills Effective communication skills Strong customer service skills A positive demeanor A great work ethic A willingness to learn how to run a business This is a 24hr operation (3 shifts) 5 to 6 days per week and the manager will lead a team consisting of 1 buyer and 6 material handlers. The operations manager will have oversight for 2 separate Mueller plant locations within Decatur and will split their time between the facilities based on the needs of the business and in support of the associates. The ideal candidate should be a strong motivating leader. Previous staff scheduling experience is a plus. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and data analysis is required. Cutting tool knowledge is not required but is an advantage.
