Position Summary:
Seeking an experienced HR Generalist who will work directly with the HR Director to strengthen the HR department with responsibilities including, but not limited to, assisting with all HR functions as assigned, including recruiting support, onboarding, orientations, training, benefits administration and maintaining a positive and productive workplace culture. There will be ample opportunity for promotions and raises based on performance.

Primary Responsibilities:
TALENT ACQUISITION
- Support the hiring manager’s and HR Director’s hiring initiatives
- Prepare job descriptions with input from management
- Assist with recruiting processes through company ATS systems
- Conduct research and analysis as assigned
- Generate reports and ensure system updates based on addition and removal of positions
- Generate, maintain and report on contact information for assigned categories
- Manage all Shortlists and ensure on-time communication with all candidates
- Help generate SOPs for the HR and Talent Acquisition team
BENEFITS

- Assist with research on traditional and innovative benefits
- Coordinate quarterly team meetings with Broker of Record
COMPLIANCE
- Collect and report on CORI and background information
- Maintain employee records, creating and updating as needed
- Monitor and maintain training compliance
- Monitor and maintain badging compliance
- Manage the Employee Handbook to ensure it is current & compliant in all states in which Fernway is/will be operating
- Ensure all HR softwares are up to date with most recent policies and information
- Ensure HR compliance
- Coordinate and facilitate HR orientation & new hire follow-up
- Coordinate new employee onboarding with payroll, benefits, IT, CCC, CRC, EEN, Gusto and RVT/Required Training (assist employees with technical support as needed)
- Update signage and posters and policies over time and as required by labor law in all states
- Assisting with set up of SOPs
- Maintain accurate records for Unemployment, PFML, STD, OSHA, etc.
- Conduct audits of records (Benefits, Payroll, PTO, PSL) as assigned
CULTURE
- Manage the Peer Mentor program
- Assist with the coordination and communication of quarterly Culture Club meetings
- Ensure complete and effective company communication (Friday updates, HR slack announcements, events, remote worker engagement)
- Assist with the planning of employee outings as assigned by Director
- Schedule, communicate and assist with quarterly check-ins with all assigned employees
- Assist in ensuring non-onsite employees are connected to our culture and account for their modified participation for all outings and culture related activities
- Conduct exit interviews and ensure compliance when off boarding an employee (Complete UI documentation as needed).
Qualifications & Requirements:
- 4 years of HR and/or recruiting experience (cannabis HR experience preferred)
- Managerial experience preferred but not required
- Must be fast paced, task oriented, driven to exceed expectations and self-motivated
- Must be capable of critical thinking and creative problem solving
- Must be flexible with hours and willing to work until the job is done
- Experience with inventory/production businesses preferred
- Experience with Indeed, Homebase, Jotform, ClickUp and headhunters
- Excitement at the prospect of building the People and Culture Team in a fast growing start-up environment
- A high degree of integrity and ethical conduct and confidentiality at all times
- Comfortable with technology & computers
- Competent note taker and SOP (standard operating procedure) generator
- Strong verbal & written communication skills
- Strong attention to details
- Ability to be onsite to serve as the go-to HR professional for HR related matters, concerns and issue
- Must pass a background check in accordance with all applicable federal and state laws
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Drive
