Job purpose
The Tool & Inventory Clerk is responsible for the inbound and outbound processing & handling of all company products as well as spare part handling duties for the Service Operations Department.
Duties and responsibilities
We are seeking a candidate who is passion about service. The key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Receives all inbound packages for Service Operations Department, moves pallets/packages to work station area for processing.
- Opens, pre-cleans, inspects contents, condition, and stages inbound tools into numbered inventory control bins, trays, and tags. Reports anomalies promptly to Service Operations Manager.
- Creates Repair Orders (RO) for all received tool types in SAP, assigns control bin/tag/tag numbers in SAP (i.e., dealer/end user repairs, recons, internal company repairs, etc.).
- Creates new end user master files in SAP for first time customer receipts. Interacts with Customer Service on any duplicate, missing, or questionable customer master data issues.
- Picks Service replenishment orders and back orders from N.A. warehouse, interacts with warehouse supervisor to obtain daily/hourly 6620 pick tickets.
- Responsible to stock replenishment orders in proper 6620 locations as well as deliver special orders directly to Technicians that are waiting.
- Performs 6620 inventory counts, reports results to Service Operations Manager for next steps.
- Escalates replenishment parts situations to Service Operations Manager for guidance and direction.
- Pulls the SAP tool Deliveries on hourly basis and moves completed tools to Shipping Dept. Matches and verifies serial numbers to Delivery documentation. Reports mismatches to Service Operations Manager promptly.
- Performs tool bin/tag/tray maintenance, maintains inventory file of same (new labels, adds locations for new items, removes discontinued items, reassigns and moves locations as space requirements dictate, etc.)
- Performs as backup for recon tool repairs (specific example: entry level testing and repair on CT products)
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School diploma, additional technical or vocational education a plus;
- Preference toward previous experience in a technical/repair customer service capacity;
- Experience with SAP a plus; Hourly/Daily SAP interaction required.
- Highly developed sense of integrity and commitment to customer satisfaction.
- Demonstrated passion for excellence with respect to handling and caring for customer inventory;
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing;
- Strong detail orientation as well as communication/listening skills;
- Possess a strong work ethic, highly accomplished attendance history required;
- Team player mentality, ability to work harmoniously with different personalities and roles;
- Must be proficient in basic computer skills and Microsoft Office applications.
