Job Description:
The Desktop Services Technician Level 2 is responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining desktop computing environments used by client employees, contractors and clients visitors. This position is responsible for all aspects of incident managements including logging, analyzing, resolving, and follow up on hardware and software issues. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all hardware and equipment (including but not limited to desktops, laptops, thin clients, printers, scanners, copiers, smart-phones, tablets and bar code readers) to ensure optimal workstation performance. The person will also troubleshoot problem areas (in person, by telephone, or via remote access) in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end-user assistance where required This position is also responsible for providing Desktop Services to C-Level and SVP-Level positions. Job Responsibilities: Diagnose and quickly resolve all Windows applications and networking problems reported to help minimize downtime Install, Upgrade, Support and troubleshoot Windows 7 (and newer), Microsoft Office 2010 (and newer) and any other client approved desktop application. Follow client approved processes and procedures for Asset Management (Hardware and Software) Educate end users on basic software, hardware and peripheral device operation Document all support related activities in client?s approved Service Desk application. Mobile device support (smart phones and tablets) Provides site support and assistance to the Central IT Support Teams (Network, Storage, Telecom) as needed Troubleshoot and Support Audio and Video (A/V) technical issues in Conference Rooms, including Video Conference equipment. Recommend suggestions, modifications and additions to current standards for future modifications then communicate recommendations to Global Desktop Team. Other duties as assigned by Management. Minimum Qualifications:6-8 Years of experience in the field or related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and particular within a particular field. Relies on limited and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks, works under general supervision. Typically reports to a Project Leader or Manager. Lift and carry up to 50 pounds of equipment short distances.
