What are the responsibilities and job description for the Team leader position at FEV?
DUTIES : FEV North America, Inc. seeks a Team Leader in Auburn Hills, Michigan. Lead and mentor project teams in calibration, testing, validation, and certification activities performed on engine dynamometer, chassis dynamometer and / or on the vehicle / machine in the application environment, specializing in the development of conventional, hybrid, and fuel cell powertrains;
Participate in powertrain calibration and development by leading the creation and calibration of base engine controls, aftertreatment controls, hybrid controls and / or on-board diagnostic (OBD) systems.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS : Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering and 48 months of experience in the job offered or related.
- Required experience must include : Experience with emissions regulations, including CARB and EPA; Experience applying fundamental principles in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and thermal combustion engines;
- Experience with CI and SI combustion processes; Experience calibrating diesel aftertreatment systems and associated controls systems;
- Experience using commercially available calibration and development tools; Experience gathering data and running testing on engine dyno, in-vehicle, and on chassis dyno;
- Experience interpreting emissions results and assessing the impacts of proposed calibration changes to emissions performance;
- Experience with the calibration process, which includes creating and executing test plans to define calibration settings and to evaluate various noise factors;
- Experience presenting detailed technical results and engaging in detailed technical discussions with customers; Experience interpreting engine and aftertreatment control algorithms and validating new functionalities;
Experience calibrating and validating selective catalytic reduction controls algorithms.
