Job Description: The Counselor Education Department at Fairfield University invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor of the Practice, Counselor Education position starting Fall 2022. Applicants are required to have completed a Ph.D. in Counselor Education. The teaching load is 4/4 and candidates should demonstrate commitment to innovation and excellence in using technology in the classroom. Applicants must have a strong commitment to excellence in graduate teaching. Teaching experience is preferred. The salary and benefits for the position are competitive. Position is open until filled. The Counselor Education department has a strong commitment to preparing clinical mental health and school counselors who are devoted to equity, diversity, inclusion, and social justice. We successfully prepare counselors with a strong focus on social justice, grounded in our Jesuit mission and values. Our graduates are prepared to address inequities in mental health care and make a substantive difference as systemic change agents for clients in mental health agencies and children and youth in educational settings. Our counseling program embodies this mission and vision. We are seeking a colleague who shares our vision for social justice and can work collaboratively to train counselors.
