What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Technician - 1st Shift position at FFP?
Quality Technicians support Food Safety and Quality, verifying documentation, guiding employees to use best GMP practices, and assisting with root cause analysis. Collaborates with Quality, Food Safety, and other teams in daily analytical, sensory, and microbiological testing procedures. Follows written policies, food safety procedures and metrics to help create consistent products and ingredients. Performance of Quality duties and enforcement of Food Safety programs and policies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following:
· Responsible for preparing samples and tests
· Perform sample inspections/analysis of ingredients, work-in progress and finished products
· Sample, plate and analyze full spectrum of microbiological analysis for product release and environmental food safety program
· Maintain and troubleshoot databases and digital documentation
· Supporting the Productions, Operations, and Logistics with sampling, inspection, and approvals
· Communicate Food Safety and Quality issues and procedure-related information in a timely and appropriate manner to management
· Review documentation and data
· Enforce and maintain quality policies and processes
· Support enforcement of production GMP’s and Food Safety rules
· Perform instrument and equipment calibration
· Create and modify Quality documentation
· Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with Food Safety guidelines procedures, rules and regulations, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
· Other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES:
No direct supervision; need to address non-compliances of GMP’s to production personnel.
EDUCATION, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE:
· Experience working in laboratory environment; B.S. in Food Science or related field preferred
· Minimum 1 year of experience in laboratory environment preferably in the Food and Beverage Industry
· Attention to detail
· Qualitative analytical skills
· Quantitative capability
· Sensory and Organoleptic experience preferred
· Knowledge of GMPs and manufacturing
· Sensory Evaluation
· Organization Skills
· Thoroughness
· Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
