The responsibilities of this role are listed below. This person will work directly alongside our Controller and will play a vital part in keeping our business running smoothly.
Accounts Payable Duties and Responsibilities
Accounts Payable Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for full cycle accounts payable processing in a timely and accurate manner and in accordance with company policies
- Code, enter invoices, review, and match payments to invoice backup, manage payment and maintain accounts payable files
- Review expense reports for proper coding and sufficient documentation
- Perform accurate data entry functions processing AP invoices and expense reports
- Perform research and problem-solving for vendor account reconciliation
- Perform duties related to onboarding and updating of vendors
- Work with approvers to ensure that invoices are approved in a timely manner
- Manage vendor relationships and reconcile invoice and payment discrepancies
- Maintain and organize accounts payable records
- Assist with month-end close deadlines, AP accruals; continuously look for process improvements to increase efficiency
- Own the monthly credit card reconciliation and processing
- Review and audit expense reporting for receipts and proper GL coding, including for corporate credit card expenses
- Ensure payments are made timely and in accordance with cash flow
- Book invoices to proper General Ledger codes and cost centers
- Request and review monthly vendor statements & reconcile any differences
- Complete the annual 1099 reporting requirements
- Assist in month-end closings
Licensure
- Maintain records and process required renewals for local operations
- Research compliance requirements for acquisitions

Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- At least 3-5 years consistent full-cycle accounts payable experience with an advanced understanding of basic accounting principles and practices required
- Accounting experience (bank reconciliations, month-end close and general ledger) preferred but not required
- Experience with Excel spreadsheets
- Experience with Sage300 software is a plus
- Attention to detail and highly organized, critical thinking is a must
- Professional appearance and reliable attendance
