Department Manager
Department Managers primarily perform supervisory and other management responsibilities. Department Managers are the primary decision makers regarding the distribution of unloading assignments to unloaders and the coordination of unloading activities through the direction of leads and backup leads. They manage and have ultimate responsibility for the accurate and timely completion of administrative paper work for reporting daily activity to the corporate office. The Department Manager is responsible to ensure compliance with all FHI policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Requirements:
High school education or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to speak and write English for effective communication. Basic math skills. Attention to detail and ability to follow directions. Mental reasoning capabilities and mature problem-solving skills while managing multiple priorities. Interact respectfully and courteously with associates, co-workers, management, customers, and vendors. Demonstrate safety consciousness and set tone for safe, productive, respectful work environment. Demonstrate understanding of preventive measures to reduce freight and property damage. Demonstrate interest in and understanding of all FHI policies and procedures and other employment issues. Leadership skills and ability to supervise people and production effectively. Must have valid driver’s license and pass consumer background checks.
