What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Care Technician position at FHN?
Job Summary: The delivery system practiced at FHN Memorial Hospital employs the concepts of differentiated nursing incorporating the PRIDE Standards as set forth by FHN. Responsibilities for delegated patient care activities under the direction of licensed professionals, for an identified patient population.
Job Responsibilities:
Other duties may be assigned.
Demonstrates clinical competency in providing age specific care to patients in designated areas of practice.
Provide activities of daily living- feeding, hygiene, bed making, and ambulation.
Restocking of supplies- rooms and Pyxis.
Specimen collection, perform diagnostic measures of BGM and 12 lead EKG's, phlebotomy
Therapeutic measures- vital signs, simple O2, cold/heat therapies, etc.
Responds to customer requests/concerns.
Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and zero to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience, CNA course
Licensure/Certification /Registration: Successful completion of CNA certification examination and BLS Certification required.
