Position Description:
FIA Tech's Connectivity Team is growing. We are seeking a Connectivity Manager who will help build our network of CCPs, execution platforms, back-office providers, brokers and buy-side firms. The role combines business analysis and technical project management. The Connectivity Manager will have the opportunity to contribute to strategic process and implementation development as part of a collaborative team.
Responsibilities:
- Business Analysis: Work with clients and FIA Tech’s onboarding team to gather clients’ technical requirements. Prepare ETL (extract, transform, load) specifications for implementation specialists. The specs describe how to translate from a data source to a data target. Data sources and targets include XML, JSON, FIX, CSV, database, etc. Provide ongoing guidance to ETL implementation specialists.
- Technical Project Management: Manage data feed integration projects. Multiple resources are involved in each project. The Connectivity Manager is responsible for project planning, engaging resources, communicating requirements, tracking progress and ensuring delivery on time and to requirement.
- Implementation Design: Design ETL workflows to allow data capture from various sources and formats.
- ETL Expertise: Gain proficiency in using a no-code ETL environment to allow informed design choices, troubleshooting and occasional updates. This role is not responsible for full ETL workflow implementation.
- Implementation Governance: Monitor ETL implementations to ensure that correct practices are followed.
- Test Plans: Write scenarios and prepare samples for ETL testing.
- Issue Management: Troubleshoot systemic issues and identify solutions. When required, work with vendors to address issues.
- Operations Support: Design and implement reporting processes to support day-to-day operations. Assist with troubleshooting.
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Work closely with the Onboarding team to ensure projects and deliverables are properly scoped and are completed within project timelines. Communicate changes and delays to the responsible Onboarding team member.
- UAT and Go-Live Management: Ensure that all scenarios in scope are tested and issues are addressed. Prepare go-live and roll-back plans and share with all parties involved. Manage a controlled go-live. Provide post-go-live support.
- Documentation: Document generic processes and client workflows.
Requirements:
- 3 years of work experience demonstrating strong organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of exchange traded derivatives (ETD) and/or post-trade processing preferred.
- Familiarity with ETL. ETL experience preferred.
- Familiarity with message formats (such as JSON, XML, FIX, CSV).
- Familiarity with SQL preferred.
- Knowledge of data transfer protocols preferred (e.g., FIX, sFTP, Kafka, MQ).
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field or equivalent work experience.
- Ability to think strategically and fully understand a problem before identifying a solution.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in parallel and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
