The Product Architect is responsible for overall design of the software and hardware solution in one of the following areas: mobile apps, wearable apps, other apps for other IOT ecosystem for high performance computer based vehicle cockpit and related systems. The breadth of this role goes all the way from technology study, market analysis, creation of roadmap, and industry face with partners. in-terms of depth, the role goes all the way in administering technology and process frameworks that have to flow from product line teams until customer engineering. Examples include -- functional safety, security framework, supporting PoCs, managing requirements.
The Product Architect will oversee all the activities of development across the following areas:
- Realize roadmap into products
- Driving design led development
- Drive framework and interface between different sub-products
- Customer-centricity and design thinking
- Enable the continuous delivery pipeline and DevOps
Job responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Technical expertise
- Deep expertise in platform selection with core knowledge in system, hardware and cloud based service architecture
- Accurately estimate the project scope of a large project and the manpower crucial
- Experience in administering common technology and functions (example FUSA) through development lifecycle
- Customer-focused, and is aware of managing change so the project remains successful
Product Definition:
- Active participation in the vote and definition of product, supplier and customer requirements in the context of specification process
- Experience in NPI/NPD processes (new product introduction or development), engineering resources management, and engineering process implementation such as CMMI or SPICE
Roadmap Management:
- Work closely with the product management team, detail out the building blocks needed to realize the roadmap
- The architect also assesses the technology boundaries and makes adaptations to the system to make it future proof
- Identifying the common platform core components across variants and developing them in common streams
Architecture led development transformation:
- Team under the Product Architect will design the overall system
- Break the system down into modules of focus
- Drives teams who can break the interfaces to API level
- Drives teams who are able to do code reviews and maintain quality
Security Expertise:
- Brings in expertise in key domains such as security
- Is capable of reviewing the solution and identifying areas of focus
- Leads and drives the development process to take security from ground up level
Innovate:
- Has the ability to innovate (as necessary) towards using new processes to improve efficiency or to react to changing project timing/requirements
- Bridges gap between customer and engineering team to make sure everyone understands the technologies employed
- Lead teams through a complete product development lifecycle
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent
- 15 years of experience in building high technology products, including a minimum of 8 years of people management experience
- Willingness to learn SAFe Agile practices.
- Industry expertise in the Connectivity or Cockpit or Cloud solution development in automotive or consumer space
- Very good understanding of engineering processes, especially requirements engineering and development processes
- Strong networking capabilities across Business Units in a multinational environment
- Excellent leadership skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master of Science in Computer Science or equivalent
