Job Summary
The Senior GIS Analyst compiles, manipulates, and analyzes geospatial data. Designs, develops, and maintains databases and systems of GIS data. A Senior GIS Analyst creates reports, maps, applications, and visualizations conveying the results of spatial analyses. Utilizes scripting languages to refine GIS data pipelines and processes. Additionally, Senior GIS Analyst may provide GIS training or assistance to other organization members. The Senior GIS Analyst work is highly independent. Usually assumes a team lead role for the work group. The Senior GIS Analyst reports to the Director of Design Engineering. A specialist on complex technical, industry, and business requirements for GIS. A Senior GIS Analyst ensures proper maintenance, documentation, and cleaning of GIS data. Develops methods to leverage GIS data for new applications
Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Geography, Planning, Computer Science, Engineering or GIS related discipline
Minimum 10 years of experience in GIS technical applications and project management related to GIS infrastructure applications
Strong working knowledge of multiple GIS platforms, with specialization in the ESRI environment
Strong work ethic with desire to work in a production environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Previous supervisory and project management experience is a plus
IT project management experience
Knowledge/ability to read and design GIS architecture
Awareness of software development best practices
Desired Skills
Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP) Certification
Knowledge of fiber telecommunication and outside plant infrastructure
Crescentlink software experience
