About this Role
FiberTel is hiring an IT Specialist for our Springville, UT location.
The IT Specialist will provide support and guidance to users experiencing technical issues relating to computer hardware, software, and peripherals. She/he will help improve systems, serve as technical support and guidance.
What You'll Do
Responsibilities:
- Provides technical support and guidance to resolve users’ computer hardware and software problems.
- Monitors, maintains, and manages all installed systems and infrastructure, ensuring high levels of availability and performance.
- Conducts regular system health checks, applying patches and updates as necessary to ensure system security and stability.
- Troubleshoots and resolves infrastructure-related issues, including network, server, storage, and cloud services.
- Plans and executes infrastructure upgrades and improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Manages backup and disaster recovery plans, ensuring data integrity and availability in the event of a system failure.
- Communicates with users via phone, chat, email, and/or a support ticketing system to assess and resolve user problems in a professional and positive manner.
- Applies knowledge of computer software and hardware to assist users in resolving problems.
- Installs or assists with the installation and set-up of new hardware, software, network printers, and peripheral equipment.
- Coordinates service or replacement of defective products from vendors and manufacturers.
- Maintains knowledge of technical innovations, trends, and best practices; makes recommendations for new software and hardware.
- Drafts or revises user training manuals and procedures.
- Maintains logs of support services provided in the ticketing system or other appropriate database.
- Creates necessary compliance documentation and reporting as per corporate SOX requirements.
- Manages user accounts and resource access using Microsoft Active Directory and NTFS services.
- Work closely with Corporate and Division IT teams in supporting Fibertel IT operations and integrations.
- Supports remote sites in the western states which includes networking, security systems, conference room systems.
- Willing to travel to remote sites as needed upgrades and hands on support.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Familiar with Active Directory and NTFS file security tools and best practices
Able to analyze local networking issues using standard client-side utilities.
Can work with Cisco networking equipment in connecting to the console and following instructions provided by corporate network engineers.
Thorough understanding of technology commonly used by clients and employees.
Ability to explain technical problems to nontechnical employees.
Two years of experience or Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree in Info Tech, Computer Science, or related technical field preferred.
