Position Summary
As the Welder Level 1, you will have the opportunity to provide a specific service in the multi-step sequence of creating a product from 2 out of the 3 following alloys: Aluminum, Copper, and Stainless Steel. The Welder uses many types of welding equipment set up in a variety of positions, such as flat, vertical, horizontal, and overhead to permanently join metal parts. This position is responsible for correctly processing paperwork associated with the product to the appropriate department in the production sequence.

Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe work environment.
- Perform/conduct manual and semiautomatic welding.
- Ability to perform various types of welding techniques such as TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), MIG (Metal Inert Gas), and ARC.
- Ability to select and set up welding equipment.
- Examine welds to ensure they meet standards or specifications while welding.
- Ability to work with a wide variety of steel products.
- Recognizes product flaws and implements corrective action.
- Weld in various types of welding positions such as flat, vertical, horizontal, and overhead.
- Read and understand welding procedures.
- Properly load, and unload material into welding equipment to prevent damage to the product.
- Performs dimensional measurements on the product prior to and after the welding process.
- Attends to welding exceptions noted on the shop router.
- Complies with company safety requirements at all times.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent (1-year training or experience may be substituted)
- Basic knowledge of various welding techniques.
- Knowledge of various types of welding equipment.
- Identify key welding operations noted on the job router.
- Understand and implement welding instruction sheets.
- Read a tape measure or any measuring tools required accurately.
- Demonstrate initiative and ability to work independently.
- Detail-oriented.
- Accountable for carrying out flawless execution of welding instructions
