The Role
Fidelity Investments is looking for an initiative-taking associate with expertise in performance engineering and production operations. As a Performance Engineer, you will be responsible for providing performance testing services across a diverse set of applications, technologies, and teams. You will also work closely with engineering teams to deploy applications, will participate in an on-call rotation, and will work with enterprise infrastructure teams to maintain, and support on-prem, non-production, and production infrastructure.

The Role

As a Performance Engineer, you will be responsible for providing performance testing services across a diverse set of applications, technologies, and teams. You will also work closely with engineering teams to deploy applications, will participate in an on-call rotation, and will work with enterprise infrastructure teams to maintain, and support on-prem, non-production, and production infrastructure.
The Expertise We are Looking For
- Bachelors' Degree in a technical field and/or equivalent experience
- 5 years of Performance Testing experience required
- Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner
- Experience using monitoring and diagnostic tools such as Datadog, Sumo Logic, and Prometheus
- Use of Grafana for Performance test reporting
- Strong expertise in CI/CD (DevOps) and cloud technologies such as AWS or EKS; certifications desirable
- Experience with JSON, REST, and Webservices
- Expertise in analyzing system and application performance metrics to identify bottlenecks and Strong knowledge of Java heap analysis
- Strong knowledge of SQL tuning and ability to read and analyze oracle AWR report
- Strong knowledge of Java/J2EE applications along with middleware platforms like WebSphere and TC server
- Linux systems and Windows systems administration experience desirable
The Skills You Bring
- Experience executing performance tests in a collaborative Agile environment
- Ability to accurately estimate work requirements and build detailed plans
- Experience testing APIs, HTTP traffic and UI based Performance tests and monitoring
- Automated testing for Regression through the UI (browser) is preferred
- Demonstrate initiative to evaluate and implement improvements (e.g., processes, utility development)
- Proficiency in programming languages such Java, Groovy, or Python
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
