Role Overview

 

Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Senior Financial Analyst will play an integral role in the future growth of the Finance function as we scale our operations in North America and Europe.  The ideal candidate will be a hands-on individual who is seeking to make a difference in a high growth company.  This position requires a well-rounded accounting professional with superior organizational and documentation skills, a strong customer service focus, and the ability to work independently and in a team environment.

 

Working together with the corporate accounting team and operations staff across the globe, you will spearhead the month and quarter end close and financial reporting process for each of our Field Trip Health centres to ensure timely and accurate preparation of stand-alone financial statements for each of our locations, including the preparation of intercompany and transfer pricing schedules across each center and our corporate entities. At the corporate level, you will also assist in the consolidation, accounting and financial reporting for a public traded company on the Canadian Stock Exchange (CSE).

 

 

What You Will Do


  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with the business units and corporate accounting staff
  • Proactively recommend improvements to our business and accounting processes
  • Review and prepare various month-end schedules, reconciliations, and journal entries for each of our Field Trip Health locations, including all intercompany and transfer pricing entries and reconciliations required across each of our locations and business units
  • Be a business partner to the rest of the organization by analyzing data and creating reports to advise and inform stakeholders
  • Assist with preparation of monthly account reconciliations at a corporate level, and quarterly financial statements, notes and management discussion and analysis (MD&A)
  • Assist with monthly variance analysis at the business unit and corporate level
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects including system development and development and maintenance of internal control policies
  • Assist with coordination of external audit


What you Bring to the Team:

 

  • 5 years of hands-on accounting experience, including experience with a publicly traded company in the technology or healthcare industry
  • Previous work experience as an auditor for a public Accounting firm is desired, but not required
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA). Full certification preferred, however CFE must be completed at a minimum.
  • Possess a solid understanding of public company reporting requirements with in-depth knowledge of accounting principles, practices and applications under IFRS
  • Must have a good understanding of internal control framework
  • Experience consolidating multiple entities and multi-currency environments
  • Advanced working proficiency of MS Excel paired with a quantitative and analytical mindset
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, often with minimal supervision with competing timelines and priorities
  • Adaptable and able to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with the ability to multi-task
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills including written and oral communication with ability to communicate data and findings to operational staff and senior management
  • Customer service focus when interacting with Field Trip Health center staff and requests
