Seafood clerks make recommendations for which fish or seafood products to purchase at the counter and handle customer service issues.

Job Duties
- Display counters and cases are arranged, stocked, and replenished with ice and seafood product.
- Check and verify freshness of seafood items in live tanks. Verify and remove foul or spoiled product and rotate merchandise.
- Orally communicate with customers and co-workers on seafood products, prices and services.
- Offer assistance in finding or suggesting the selection of seafood product. Prepare special seafood fillets and cuts as requested by customers.
- Weigh, price, and package customer selections using weigh scales, label machine and wrapping machine.
- Process merchandise according to production guidelines and follow established sanitation standards.
- Keep displays iced according to company policy and change ice as scheduled.
- Receive and unload seafood delivery truck and store product in designated area.
- Receive supplies, organize and maintain inventory of newly received merchandise.
- Monitor cooler, display cases, and tanks for correct temperature to assure product quality.
- Maintain a clean and neat department, free from safety hazards; report hazards to management.
- Work in a safe and proper manner, exercising safe food handling practices.
- Exercise proper safety practices on use of all equipment.
- Operate and clean seafood equipment and tools.
- Follows all company guidelines and procedures.
- Verify all product labels, signs and prices are aligned with product.
- Restock and use supply items efficiently to eliminate waste and to maintain the lowest supply cost.
- Promote items on public address system
- Present favorable impression in dress, personal hygiene and business attitude.
- Notify management of associate theft, customer shoplifting, unauthorized markdowns or property defacement.
- Other duties assigned by management.
- High school diploma or equivalent experience.
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Working knowledge of seafood preparation and cuisine and ability to display seafood in a way that attracts passing customers.

- Frequently-Twisting of back and neck, and slippery floor surface.
- Continuously- Hazardous equipment (mechanical moving parts), contact with sharp objects, and contact with skin irritant.
- Varied, irregular schedules.
- Working environment involves inside, cold from coolers with duration up to an hour, and wet/humid conditions.
