JOB DESCRIPTION
Beertenders will be working in a fast paced, high volume bar in our main dining room. Beertenders are responsible for educating guests on FIFCOUSA’s beer and beverage portfolio. We are looking for an outgoing and enthusiastic candidate with a passion for all things beer and Genesee! They should be comfortable with all aspects of service including pouring beer, taking drink and food orders, opening wine bottles, and cash handling. They will support servers by running a service bar. The employee will be responsible for maintaining positive guest relations throughout the guests’ experience.

LOCATION: Rochester, NY
DEPARTMENT: Genesee Brew House Restaurant
JOB TYPE: Hourly
SCHEDULE: The Brew House is open 7 days per week for lunch, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Become an expert in FIFCO USA culture and history
- Obtains and maintains knowledge of FIFCO USA beer styles, brewing, and packaging processes, and is able to communicate to patrons through tastings and each visitor contact
- Responsible for welcoming and interacting with guests in a positive and friendly manner
- Responsible for taking orders, delivering food and drinks, and ensuring all food and drink is up to quality standards
- Anticipate guests needs and assists with directions, event schedules, and other information or assistance as needed
- Responsible for beer to-go orders including Growler and Crowler fills
- Checks receipts and ensures collection of payments, reconciles receipts and payments at the end of shifts
- May do “Side Work” pertaining to their craft including but not limited to cleaning work areas, stocking supplies, and maintaining general upkeep of the Brew House
- Change Kegs & Move Kegs to storage areas
- Responsible for cleaning glassware using dishwashers and storing properly
- Responsible for disposing of trash and keeping their work area clean and orderly
- Actively exhibit a commitment to support a diverse and inclusive work environment
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous bartending experience required
- Excellent communication skills and ability to convey information
- Excellent listener: Must give full attention to what others are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, and asking questions as appropriate.
- Ability to operate and use computers and cash register – Toast POS knowledge a plus
- Must complete employer provided alcohol safe service training
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to walk and stand for entirety of shift as well as bend, stoop, reach, push, and lift frequently
- Must be able to handle weights up to 30 lbs.
- Must be able to safely climb stairs various times during shift with food tray, bussing bin and/or drinks
- Must be able to safely transport food, equipment, or materials using elevator
- Must be able to handle weights up to 150 lbs. with assistance
