JOB SUMMARY
The Internal Auditor, reporting directly to the Audit and Compliance Director at FIFCO, will be responsible for providing expert technical advice on high-level accounting, financial and internal control matters in FIFCO USA’s business. Objectively assessing business processes internal control environments, risks and efficacy of its risk management efforts along with ensuring the organization is complying with relevant laws and statutes.

DEPARTMENT: Corporate Internal Audit
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and formally document the technical criteria for accounting, financial and internal control inquiries related to recurring or non-recurring transactions
- Prepare and update a comprehensive audit plan (Financial and Operational) for FIFCO USA
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the controls and efficiency of the first and second lines of defense, ensuring the integrity and reliability of the information and financial report, the safeguarding of company assets and compliance with laws and regulations that effect the business performance
- Plan, coordinate, direct and execute the development of the different audit projects, ensuring full understanding of the business, criteria of independence and objectivity, and a timely communication environment.
- Manage the internal audits of the administrative/operational units of FIFCO USA, in order to evaluate the existence and effectiveness of an adequate Corporate Governance Framework
EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting; MBA preferred
- CPA & CIA highly preferred
- Strategic thinker with high level business acumen skills
- Highly motivated to build relationships across various functions in the US business and between the US and Costa Rica offices
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in external or corporate auditing; large firm experience preferred
- Conversational Spanish highly preferred
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, Word & PowerPoint
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
- Must be able to successfully pass a hair drug screen as well as a background check
