GENERAL FUNCTION: Manages development and implementation of value-added analysis and recommendation to support business line growth. Partners with senior management to identify, prioritize, track and execute strategic initiatives within the team. Responsible for developing reporting, analytics, metrics and key performance indicators while also providing in-depth analysis and recommendations for improving/enhancing line of business and regional performance. Coordinates with the LOB Finance Division and Line of Business to ensure consistency in reaching financial goals. Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Successfully execute reporting and analytics. Analyzes data to make proactive recommendations/solutions to drive and enhance department performance. Document, evaluate and improve design of reports and processes to ensure that analytical tools evolve as the business changes. Develops trend analyses and other quantitative reports to determine business trends. Partners with leaders to further analyze data and develop recommendations for improvement. Partners with senior management and CFOs on strategic initiatives, business issues & opportunities. Understands and leads peers in the identification of key business factors (both internal and external) that impact the business. Maintain an up-to-date knowledge base to keep current on existing and emerging issues; apply this knowledge to assist business manager in growing their business. Develop recommendations and action plans to support growth and eliminate or mitigate observed risks. Business Intelligence (e.g., key performance indicators, executive dashboards, reporting). Responsible for managing a team of reporting analysts. Creates capacity planning models in partnership with each business unit. Adjusts model based on business needs and provides recommendations and solution (i.e. load balancing) to drive business performance. Establishes, fosters and maintains working relationships with peers and management within the Bank, the various lines of business, regional partners, and other key stakeholders as well as Bancorp Finance. Provides training and guidance to less experienced analysts. Develop analytical models to identify patterns in data. Prepares and analyze monthly reports for the line of business and regions. Investigates and documents unusual items. Performs maintenance on existing schedules and reports for changes to information. Documents, evaluates and improves design of reports and processes to ensure that analytical tools evolve as the business changes. Develop trend analyses and other quantitative reports to determine business trends. Is an active participant in process improvement and problem resolution issues. Analyzes business performance, makes recommendations for improvements and measures progress. Success will be measured by outcomes. (i.e., business improvement). Works closely with CFOs to develop metrics and variance analysis of actual results. Assist with the development of presentations and discussion document to highlight business issues and opportunities. Develops cross training programs and ensures the adequate delegation of duties and responsibilities. Manages the planning and direction of departmental projects. Works with direct reports to set and achieve department objectives. Recruits, develops and exports talent. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for providing employees timely, candid and constructive performance feedback. Developing employees to their fullest potential and provide challenging opportunities that enhance employee career growth. Developing the appropriate talent pool to ensure adequate bench strength and succession planning. Recognizing and rewarding employees for accomplishments. MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree required; degree in Business Management, Statistics, Finance and/or MBA preferred. 6 years of business experience which includes advanced data mining tools. Must possess ability to think strategically. Strong analytic, technical, and statistical skills with proven ability to process vast amounts of data into meaningful information and interpret statistical trends. In-depth understanding of product features, benefits, pricing, and positioning preferred. Ability to design and deliver reporting to meet various business needs and management requirements. Ability to communicate effectively with leadership and internal business partners. Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Strong attention to detail with ability to meet department standards as related to quality, efficiency, initiative, team work, customer service and overall job performance. Strong computer aptitude. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Access, SQL, PowerPoint and Excel is preferred. WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal office environment with little exposure to dust, noise, temperature and the like. Extended viewing of a CRT screen.
