Overview

The EHS Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing environmental, health, and safety programs and policies within the organization. They must ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards while fostering a culture of safety and sustainability.

Responsibilities

  • Frontline Obsession:
    • Cultivate an unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of frontline employees, integrating their perspectives and needs into all safety-related initiatives and decisions.
  • Strategic Leadership:
    • Develop and communicate the company's EHS vision, goals, and strategies.
    • Align EHS initiatives with business objectives and drive continuous improvement.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    • Stay updated on environmental, health, and safety regulations at local, state, and federal levels.
    • Ensure the organization complies with all relevant EHS laws and standards.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
    • Identify potential EHS hazards and risks in the workplace.
    • Implement proactive measures and mitigation strategies to prevent accidents and incidents.
  • Safety Training and Education:
    • Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees.
    • Promote a culture of safety awareness and responsibility throughout the organization.
  • Environmental Sustainability:
    • Develop and manage environmental sustainability programs.
    • Monitor and reduce the organization's environmental footprint.
  • Incident Response and Investigation:
    • Lead investigations into EHS incidents and accidents.
    • Develop corrective action plans and ensure they are implemented effectively.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting:
    • Collect, analyze, and report on EHS data and performance metrics.
    • Use data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities for optimization.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
    • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar certification is a plus.
    • Seven (7) or more years of experience working as an Environmental Health & Safety professional with at least three (3) of those years in a leadership role.
    • Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and best practices.
    • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
    • Proficiency in EHS software and data analysis tools.
