Job Summary: Under general direction with a high level of autonomy, uses extensive knowledge and skills obtained through education and experience, to manage the internal accounting operational and business analytic (automation) functions of the organization. Leads major projects, programs or processes with significant business impact involving cross-functional teams. Serves as a consultant to internal Accountants, Controllers and CFO’s, advising them of concerns from and related to clients. Influences strategic direction and develops tactical plans and completes complex assignments with substantial latitude for un-reviewed actions or decisions.  Extensive contact with internal and external clients and business partners is needed to meet goals and objectives. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

·         Responsible for overseeing the entire range of internal accounting functions including Business Analytics, Accounts Payables and Receivables, Payroll and Banking.

·         Plans, assigns, monitors and manages the work of others.

·         Reviews performance and evaluates results achieved by direct reports.

·         Coaches and mentors’ direct reports.

·         Interprets, applies and recommends changes to organizational policies and procedures.

·         Reviews progress of assignments with senior management.

·         Balances conflicting resource and priority demands.

·         Ensures strict compliance with company financial policies and guidelines, GAAP, accounting practices and procedures, timely completion of all accounting tasks and routings.

·         Responsible for updating and developing policies, systems, special financial studies of major importance.

·         Oversees and directs identification, design and deployment of technology and process solutions.  

·         Advise management on matters of fiscal procedure and importance for the organization.

·         Works with confidential data, which, if disclosed, might have significant internal or external effect.

·         Work with Accountants, Controllers and CFO’s during client annual audits.

·         Manages accesses and regularly troubleshoots issues and concerns related to select programs and systems and functions in a back-up capacity related to others.

·         Regularly troubleshoots various departmental concerns related to routine and non-routine processes and procedures.  

·         Regularly reviews practices, processes and procedures and revises as necessary for compliance and/or streamlining and efficiency purposes.

·         Maintains currency in GAAP rules and procedures as well as effective and efficient accounting processes and procedures.

·         May oversee and directs projects related to assigned functional areas.

·         Operates standard office equipment and uses required software applications.

·         Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of:

·         Advanced concepts, principles, practices and procedures of internal accounting operations departments/functions.

·         Advanced knowledge of GAAP.

·         Fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of financial system administration

·         Advanced concepts, principles and practices of data visualization, business intelligence, reporting, analytics, and financial controls.

·         Advanced concepts, practices and procedures used in Accounting close processes including knowledge of consolidation and reporting.

 

Skill in:

·         Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications, including Microsoft Office. Prior experience with Financial Edge NXT, QuickBooks, and ADP or other HRM systems is preferred.

·         Partner with other functional areas to accomplish objectives.

·         Facilitate meetings, ensuring that all viewpoints, ideas and problems are addressed.

·         Incorporate needs, wants and goals from different business unit perspectives into functioning processes and procedures.

·         Attend to detail while maintaining a big picture orientation.

·         Read, interpret, analyze and apply information from internal and external clients to provide direction to direct reports.

·         Incite enthusiasm and influence, motivate and persuade others to achieve desired outcomes.

·         Interpret and apply policies and identify and recommend changes as appropriate.

·         Work under pressure on multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment with frequent interruptions and changing priorities.

·         Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information related to clients and team members.

·         Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

·         Work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

·         Handle stressful situations and lead others in providing a high level of customer service in a calm and professional manner.

·         Establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organization, including negotiating resources.

 

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:

·         Minimum Degree Required:

o    Bachelor’s Degree

·         Required Disciplines:

o    Accounting, Finance, Business or a relate field

·         At least 10 years experience in Accounting with at least 5 years in a supervisory/management capacity preferably managing Internal Accounting Operations functions. Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources.

Working Conditions:

Hours:   Normal business hours.  Some additional hours may be required.

Travel Required: less than 10% local travel may be required
