JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective
Under supervision, the Human Resources Assistant performs work of moderate difficulty related to the operations of the Human Resource Directors office, as well as employee relations, administration duties and achieves related tasks as assigned.
Essential Functions
- Provides clerical support to the HR department, via maintaining accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
- Answers frequently asked questions from managers and employees relative to standard policies, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions as appropriate HR Director.
- Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
- Answers and directs departmental phone calls.
- Proofreads, updates and types documents and correspondence produced by department.
- Assists and primarily facilitates in the review processes required for paperwork related to coaching, counseling, disciplinary actions, separations and other related employee relation matters.
- Assist and/or create the preparation of human resource reports such as retention, attrition, new hire, and related reports.
- Review recruiting source data to assist managers in improving recruiting techniques and utilizing all available tools as they premier and ongoing.
- Operates as HR Director’s resource as assigned for all organizational or employee necessities as relates but not limited to – Performance, Recruitment, Investigations, Inquiries, Concerns, Questions, and Compliance etc.
- Assists in administration and creation of employee relations programs/initiatives; primarily monitor the performance appraisal process when and where initiated.
- Participates in and supports FMLA and ADA administration as needed.
- Support development of onboarding and retention programs to include new-employee orientations, on-going manager training, appreciation and retention programs and similar.
- Assists in the exit or stay interview process where called upon.
- Assist HR Director in organizational training and development efforts, creation and deployment.
- Participate in various corporate, administrative or staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars as needed and/or assigned for development.
- Achieve other human resources and support related duties as required and assigned.
- Assists and/or facilitates the carrying out of various human resource processes and procedures for other dealerships wherein assigned.

- Ability to type 40 WPM.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervision responsibilities.
Work Environment
The employee regularly works in an office setting. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, drive, talk, write, type and hear. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds at a time.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time onsite position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (or as formally agreed in writing)
Travel
Local travel to various worksites may be required on daily basis with little notice. Some overnight out-of-state travel required as HR requests or assignments require within any state our dealerships reside.
Required / Preferred Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required. Two years of administrative or human resource task experience at minimum. One to two years of experience in the HR field, or any similar combination of education and experience strongly preferred.
