The Senior Accountant ensures that the Company, including its multiple affiliated entities, has accurate and timely accounting and financial information with which to inform management decisions and to file taxes, among other tasks. These responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
Comply with all applicable government regulations and Company policies and procedures, including sanitation, security, workplace safety, confidentiality, and seed-to-sale software requirements, among others.
Conduct yourself in a manner that exhibits and spreads key corporate values, such as being “start-up ready”, proactive, resourceful, candid, persistent and analytically rigorous.
The ideal candidate will have excellent time-management skills, will be proficient in MS Excel, QuickBooks Online, and other tools to expedite collaboration and workflows, and will have the ability and desire to adapt and multi-task in a fast-paced, ever-changing industry.
- Bookkeeping
- Journal entries / Payment transactions using accounting software.
- Amortization of prepaid expenses and depreciation of physical assets
- Monthly, accrual-based allocations for Start-up Costs, Work in Process and Finished Goods, in accordance with the Company’s long-lived expansion projects and multi-month production cycles.
- Monthly financial statements for all affiliated entities
- Within five business days of prior month’s end
- Includes: P&L; Balance Sheet; Cash Flow Statement; and General Ledger
- Maintain Fixed Assets and Depreciation schedules.
- Heavy involvement with process improvement projects
- Reconcile and maintain intercompany transactions
- Documentation and/or ongoing refinement of all bookkeeping workflows (e.g., cash management, inventory management, payroll, travel and entertainment reimbursements, month-end close) to facilitate feedback; accelerate on-boarding of new staff; and to prepare for regulators, investors and auditors (e.g., internal, IRS, third parties)
- Review Accounts Payable
- Review weekly accounts payable report in QB to solicit approval of each payment and ensure proper accruals
- Set-up workflow for invoices for dept. head approvals using online applications
- Audits & Inspections: aid staff in preparing for audits and as needed, assist with third-party and internal audits, including by local and state regulators.
- Present findings and recommendations, including expected outcomes and implementation plans, in a concise and persuasive manner.
- Effectively and efficiently document, collaborate and persuade by using software and telecommunications tools, including spreadsheets, word processing, email, calendars, text, chat, webinars, seed-to-sale and other software, etc.
- Assist with any other tasks or responsibilities that are assigned to you. Salary

- BS in Accounting, Finance or Business
- 5 years accounting experience.
- Highly organized self-starter who is creative, collaborative and offers thoughtful insights

- Knowledge of computer-based accounting packages
- Must have demonstrated interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Strong knowledge of GAAP(Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulations
- Ability and willingness to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to prioritize and organize efficiently
