What are the responsibilities and job description for the Permitting Manager position at FINFROCK?
Permitting Manager:
It is the responsibility of the Permitting Manager to coordinate his / her staff with the individual Architecture Project Teams within the Architecture Studio. This supervision, delegation and coordination relates to all the tasks and specific milestones outlined below.
- Attend every project launch
- Establish a rapport with the AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction) for each project as it relates to the methodology of submitting permit documents
- Reach out to the AHJ to set up a Pre-permit meeting; Meet with the AHJ to present the intended scope of work for the project and establish protocols for construction document submittals
- Verify the format for document submittals to the AHJ
- Meet with the internal design staff on the confirmation of all project review entities, the documentation format and the sequence of review
- Confirm and coordinate for the receipt and integration of all design documentation for permit submittal / re-submission
- Verification of Project Document content and formatting
- Submit building plans/documents to the AHJ (hard copies or digital uploads)
- Maintain all project documents
- Continue to monitor the progress of the permit submittal review and update the PM / Lead of the status in the DMC; determine expected time frame to complete the initial review and the logistical timing of various department reviews (i.e. Building, Fire, etc.)
- Review and organize the permit comments from the AHJ into a formal response
- Confirm that all AHJ comments have been responded to in the revised documents
- Coordinate with the Project Lead to confirm that the responses are complete
- Update and maintain the CURRENT AND COMPLETE set of documents with the revised drawings so that it represents the current status of every individual drawing that is part of the project documents. This will be completed in PMWeb and BIM360 as well.
- Confirm with the AHJ an expected time frame in which the documents will be reviewed.
- Updating the CURRENT and COMPLETE set of documents with any subsequent set of revisions to the drawings that are submitted to the AHJ for review will be contained.
- Coordinate with the Construction PM regarding any revision updates / uploads to PMWeb and BIM 360 so the field is working off the most recent set of documents.
Experience:
- Familiarity with or ability to learn PM Web and BIM 360 software platforms PM Web and BIM 360 software platforms
- You have a comprehension and / or exposure to the knowledge of architecture or the construction industry.
- You are a multi-tasker who can work multiple projects concurrently.
- You enjoy the challenges of balancing the interaction between multiple departments.
- You want to be in Central Florida, and you are willing to relocated on your own if you aren’t already here.
