Job Title: Financial Analyst
Location: San Antonio, TX
Reports to: Finance Manager
Purpose
In this job as a Financial Analyst, you will be focused on providing analytical support to the Finlays US Coffee team, including Manufacturing Operations, and the Sales and Marketing, to drive actionable business insights. You will be responsible for assisting with reporting, budgeting, forecasting long-range planning support and the development and generation of insightful financial analyses. We are looking for individuals with a strong understanding of financial data and reporting tools. Superior analytical and communication skills are equally important in this role, as you will be interacting with senior management on a regular basis.
The analyst will also play a primary role in maintaining reporting tools, including administering QuickBooks and developing financial models as part of the new ERP system rollout. This role provides ample opportunities for career growth and development for the right candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly financial close activities including updating and reporting of Group Financial Reporting requirements for the Coffee BU results to management
- Create timely Opex and T&E reporting
- Participation in monthly & quarterly forecasts and variance analysis, including cash flow foreasting
- Analyze and provide key insights on trends in key performance indicators including revenues, cost of sales, expenses, working capital and capital expenditures.
- Maintenance and development of financial models that aid in the presentation and consolidation of management accounts, variance analysis.
- Develop reporting using various reporting tools.
- Perform special projects and ad-hoc reporting as required Support Senior Management Team and Departments heads with in-depth analysis
- Provide additional information for Division headquarters in London and Group Finance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business preferred
- 1-3 years of applicable FP&A experience or equivalent
- General knowledge of GAAP
- Key Attention to Detail
- Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, Macros, data lookups, etc. Proficient in using PowerPoint for developing effective presentations.
- Experience working with ERP systems, Adaptive Planning (or similar) BI tools and dashboards
- Excellent communication skills: able to clearly communicate complex financial information in an easy to understand manner; able to deliver messages effectively both verbally and in writing
- Excellent analytic and problem solving skills utilizing multiple data sources
