The Payment Processing Specialist is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate payment of loans and providing superior customer service to internal and external customers. PRIMARY & ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Receives and processes mortgage loan payments timely and accurately using FICS Mortgage Servicer. Payments are received by mail, phone, wire transfer, internal customer transactions, and ACH. 2. Audits for Teller errors; Generates Collection Clearing reports to identify errors and adjusts payments, when needed. 3. Monitors late payment reports; generates and mails customer correspondence accordingly. 4. Generates customer mortgage statements from FICS Mortgage Servicer; communicates with Vendor to mail. 5. Communicates errors provides recommendations on training needs to Retail Manager to support Retail Training. 6. Receives customer payment inquiries by phone; performs research and responds appropriately. 7. Assists internal and external customers by troubleshooting, recommending solutions, and determining when to escalate a problem to management. 8. Maintains customer privacy when accessing customer accounts and information. 9. Performs general loan maintenance in FICS Mortgage Servicer as requested by internal and external customers. This includes receipt and processing of ACH request forms. 10. Completes annual E-Learning Plan and Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) training as assigned and keeps up-to-date knowledge of BSA as it relates to the job function REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: 1. High School Diploma, required; Associates Degree, preferred. 2. 1 – 3 years administrative/clerical support; mortgage experience, highly preferred 3. Experience working with Windows operating system, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook 4. Strict attention to detail required to apply policies and procedures set in place within the Mortgage Servicing department 5. Good judgment, tact, and the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. 6. Experience with troubleshooting and researching loan or other customer issues 7. Track record of meeting deadlines and working effectively in a fast-paced environment. Scheduled Weekly Hours: 18 Time Type: Part time
