Minister of Youth and Children (Family Ministry)

Full-time position

Salary: Commensurate with experience

Benefits: The Minister of Youth and Children will receive one (1) week of paid vacation during the first year of employment and two (2) weeks of annual paid leave thereafter. In addition the hired candidate will have off any day the church office is closed for approved holidays or weather delays.

General Description

Seeking a passionate full-time minister to make disciples, plan and facilitate youth and children’s ministry and to engage and recruit families to our fellowship. This individual will enlist and lead volunteers, train participants, and cultivate spiritual growth across the congregation.

Position Responsibilities

• Serve as an integral part of the staff team working to further the church’s over-all vision including a continued building of youth, children and family-centered programs.
• Participate in weekly staff meetings with pastor(s) and worship planning team.
• Supervise the repertoire of youth, children and family materials and oversee the organization thereof.
• Provide oversight to program volunteers; ensure training and administration of budget line item(s)
• Coordination of Youth Ministry, Children’s Ministry and Family Ministry including education and ordering literature.
• Facilitation and coordination of age-appropriate events, such as Vacation Bible School.
• Ensuring that all persons who come into contact with our youth and children are approved pursuant to FBC Walnut Cove’s Child Protection Policy.
• Ensuring that our children and youth are safe while on the grounds of our facilities, including coordination of security detail for events or regular church times.
• Scheduling of appropriate retreats and/or outings.
• Teaching or supervision of teachers for specific classes or programs.
• Other responsibilities as requested by Senior Pastor.

Specific Qualifications

• Professed Christian and an active member of an evangelical church.
• Demonstrated interest in Youth Ministry, Children’s Ministry and/or Family Ministry.
• Evidence of moral character and pattern of discipleship; submit to a federal background investigation.
• Graduate of high school and some level of post-secondary education. Demonstrated interest in youth and/or children’s ministry preferred.
• Experience that reflects proficiency with computer applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and/or Publisher, EasyWorship, ProPresenter, video editing software, etc.)

Pay: From $35,000.00 per year
